Firefighters from Plovdiv and the region responded to 26 reports of fallen trees and flooded streets and ground floors this night, bTV reported.
The situation is worst at the intersection of "Alexander Stamboliyski" Blvd. and "Industrialna" St. in the "South" district of Plovdiv.
The Plovdiv municipality said that it was a recently laid pipe of the Southern bypass collector that was flooded with water.
The local authorities claim that they have repeatedly warned the contractor about the problem, including yesterday. The company has undertaken to eliminate the irregularities.
The section from the intersection of "Kuklensko Shose" and ul. „Industrialna“ to the intersection of ul. „Alexander Stamboliyski“ and ul. „Bratya Buxton“ is cordoned off, and passage is prohibited.
