The chairman of "Vazrazhdane" - Kostadin Kostadinov, expressed his position regarding the floods from yesterday through the social network. He recalled an equally large flood that took victims in Varna years ago, and called for the municipal and state authorities to take responsibility.
"Yesterday in the area of "Elenite" 3 people died in a flood. The reason for this latest tragedy is visible in this photo. Why another one? Because 11 years ago in Varna, during the flood in the "Asparuhovo" district, 13 people died for the same reason.
And the reason is that construction is being carried out in drainage ravines and dry valleys. Dry valleys have no water 99% of the time of the year, but if there is a big rain, they turn into stormy and full-flowing rivers. This happened in "Asparuhovo" in 2014, this happened yesterday in "Elenite".
That is why there are those responsible for the victims. In both cases, these are the municipal and state authorities - in Varna they tolerated the illegal construction in the gypsy neighborhood, which had entered the ravine, and in "Elenite" they simply gave permission for construction in an unthinkable place. The question now is - who exactly in the municipal and state administration will take responsibility for the tragedy? Because, I repeat once again, it is not the result of anything else, but of an administrative crime committed by state or municipal officials.”, wrote Kostadinov on the social network.
