A march in solidarity with the Palestinian people is being organized this Sunday in Sofia

It will start at 12 o'clock in front of the pylons of the National Palace of Culture

A peaceful march in solidarity with the Palestinian people is being organized today at noon in Sofia, BNR reported.

The march is planned to start at 12 o'clock in front of the pylons of the National Palace of Culture, to pass through "Vitosha" Blvd. and reach the Council of Ministers building. Information about the event is being distributed mainly through the social network "Facebook" and the organization behind the demonstration is listed as "Al-Quds Jerusalem Committee".

Fares Fares, who is Palestinian and is from the "Al-Quds Jerusalem Committee", explained to BNR that he is organizing the march together with another colleague.

"Actually, the goal is to express our support for our people. Hopefully this procession will awaken the conscience of some people. We are doing this and we invite everyone else. Whoever comes, should come as an individual. The Bulgarian flag and the Palestinian flag. There are no other flags. There are no anti-Semitic, religious, racist slogans or posters. It is categorically forbidden," emphasized Fares Fares.

On Tuesday, "Amnesty International Bulgaria" wanted to organize an action in solidarity with the Palestinians before the first game of the Israeli team "Apoel Tel Aviv" in the Basketball Euroleague in Sofia. However, the Sofia Municipality did not allow the event to be held in front of the "Arena 8888 Sofia" hall, where the game was to be held. "Amnesty" is appealing the decision to the Sofia Court of Appeal.
