The Deputy Chairwoman of the Supreme Administrative Court Marinika Cherneva has agreed to be appointed as the acting chairperson of the court for the next six months and it has already been sent to the Supreme Judicial Council, BNR learned from the court.
The Judicial College is about to make a decision to dismiss the current temporary head of the Supreme Administrative Court, Georgi Cholakov, from his post and appoint Cherneva.
You came to the reshuffle after the changes to the Judiciary Act, which entered into force on January 21. One of the texts introduced a six-month limit for occupying the post of "acting" - Prosecutor General and chairmen of the two supreme courts.
In July, the Judicial College decided that the text applies to Cholakov, unlike the Prosecutorial College, according to which the law does not apply retroactively and Borislav Sarafov, who has been acting Prosecutor General since June 2023, remained in his post.
