According to the Bulgarian Constitution, privacy is inviolable and the state must create conditions for this to be respected. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov on the occasion of the proposed amendments to the Criminal Code by “There is such a people“ (NTN), which would criminalize the dissemination of information about a person's private life without his consent.

“How the constitutional texts and guarantees for the rights of citizens are interpreted in the legislation is a matter of the autonomy of the National Assembly“, the Prime Minister explained.

Zhelyazkov and the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Christoph Hansen, participate in the opening of the reconstructed M-1 Main Canal, part of the “Trakiets“ irrigation system in Haskovo.

The place for the debate on this topic is in the National Assembly. When I read the texts, I was not left with the feeling that this was a question of freedom of speech, but of revealing personal data, the Prime Minister added.
