On the basis of Art. 81 of the Rules of Procedure for the Organization and Activities of the National Assembly, the draft law of the National Assembly to amend and supplement the Criminal Code with the signature 51-554-01-178 has been withdrawn.

This was written on "Facebook" by the leader of the National Assembly Slavi Trifonov.

By the way, the word draft law makes it clear that this is a project, not a law. In order for it to become a law, a series of procedures are needed - and most importantly, it must be voted on in the National Assembly. I am absolutely sure that 99% of the journalists and public figures who commented on this law have not read it at all. At least not Boyko Borisov. I even think that Boyko Borisov has never read a single draft law in his entire life. But that's another topic.

The draft law in question was not about any revision of freedom of speech at all. It is simply absurd that "There are such people" would want something like that. Inside, it was about protecting the personal space of every person, so that no one can be blackmailed through personal photos, for example, as some rather unclean people are doing at the moment.

In fact, I am writing all this because the people who made this draft law deserve respect. Whether anyone will bother to read it, even though it was withdrawn today, is their business. I will quote to you the words of a great man who is no longer with us, but I had the honor of knowing and communicating with him - Rangel Valchanov. Long live his memory!

Well, he used to tell me: “No one can be free if they don't want to be free!“ And he was right.
