Young doctors from the "Future in Bulgaria" initiative are holding another protest, this time under the title "The Funeral of a Future", BNR reported. The demonstration is scheduled for 6 p.m. in front of the Ministry of Health.
The organizers of the protest are addressing their colleagues and like-minded people with an appeal: "Come say goodbye to our future here!". They point to the negligence of the institutions as the cause of death. Half a year after the demands for reform and decent pay were made, nothing is happening, said Vasilena Dimitrova, a medical student:
"There are no actions and will on the part of those in power to make changes that would give us hope to stay in Bulgaria."
Last week, Health Minister Silvi Kirilov caused tension among young doctors with her statement about the system:
"Currently, the system is supported by those who were residents 15 years ago. I am a supporter of increasing the labor income of all participants in the Bulgarian health system, starting from academics and corresponding members to the last orderly"
A black dress code has been announced for today's protest. Organizers are also preparing a march to "Orlov Most".
