And whether Peevski will have ministers is not so important, because Borisov himself said - when Peevski asks something of me, I fulfill it. This is absolutely enough and can summarize Borisov's entire press conference.” This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivalo Mirchev at a briefing for the media at the party headquarters after the statement of GERB leader Boyko Borisov about how the government will continue.
Mirchev accused Borisov of lying that PP-DB were not ready to enter the government, did not set conditions and did not extend a hand. “We did this and put our conditions on the table last year. They were for Peevski to be outside of any influence on the institutions and not to touch the governance of the country in any way. Borisov then got scared, chose to govern with Peevski, chose a weak government and is currently continuing in the same spirit, admitting that they have known each other for 20 years, he is carrying out Peevski's orders to enter such a coalition. Together with the BSP and ITN, which are entirely under Peevski's control, we are expecting a government led by Delyan Peevski and DPS-New Beginning in the coming years,” said Ivaylo Mirchev.
According to the party leader, the lack of a quorum in parliament is an indicator that Borisov is writhing in front of Peevski and the inability to break free by going to the elections and making a last-ditch attempt to prevent GERB from being absorbed by Peevski. “In the text message to Borisov after the elections in Pazardzhik, I wrote to him that Peevski ate him - today Borisov himself admitted that Peevski ate him”, said Mirchev.
He rejected the GERB leader's claims that the PP-DB brought Peevski into the leadership of the assembly. “Borisov himself said that he has known Peevski for 20 years, listens to him and carries him out, so none of us brought Peevski. When, after 5 elections, we were ready to form a government with GERB, entering the conversation with Borisov, Peevski's head was showing behind his shoulder”, said Ivaylo Mirchev. And he added that now, with “a cabinet in which not only Delyan Peevski participates, but belongs to Delyan Peevski, there can be no talk of any talks about support from our side.”
As for possible support for the budget for next year, according to the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” with the government's turbulent economic policy, it cannot be supported. “We have proposed our right-wing measures and we will defend them - and this will not be in the interest of the government, but of the country, because otherwise Bulgaria will enter a debt spiral, which will be very difficult”, warned Ivaylo Mirchev. He recalled that the PP-DB position is for a budget deficit of up to 3% and no increase in social security contributions and taxes, including VAT. And revenues in the treasury can be secured even at the current rates if the thefts are stopped.
According to the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Borisov sees that the Ministry of Interior is completely under Peevski's control, he is trying to tear off his tail, but he is not succeeding. As a result, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov remains in his post at Peevski's insistence, and they are sacrificing the head of the Ministry of Interior-Pazardzhik, so that someone can still be named as the culprit for the election violations. “The big problem is that not only in these elections, but also before that, the Ministry of Interior worked for Delyan Peevski”, Ivaylo Mirchev is categorical. He warned that the country is facing a huge danger: “We are heading towards a soft dictatorship and towards this DPS-New Beginnings finally taking control of all power in Bulgaria”.
