Kuzman Iliev: We all legitimized Peevski

Two centers are forming - around the leader of the MRF and around President Radev, the analyst believes

"The news is that there will be no news. Nothing special will happen, there will be no reformatting. The coup is being postponed", political analyst Nidal Algaffari told BNT, quoted by FOCUS.

"The fact that Mr. Peevski is in some kind of government - the state is governed by the National Assembly (NA), not by the Council of Ministers (CM). They are the executive branch. So Mr. Peevski and the MRF-New Beginning have been in power for a long time, governing together with the other political formations“, he explained.

"I don't see what the problem is with a large political formation, which has so many voters at the moment, not participating. Why not participate?“, he asked.

According to him, an option must be found for stability and security in the state.

Kuzman Iliev, for his part, does not see the advent of any particular new stage in governance.

"Two centers of power are clashing in the state. One is Peevski, who even manages to bite GERB, to disfigure PP-DB, who are now struggling to return to the game with more powerful rhetoric, but still have a history.

And the other camp, a gravitational field that is taking shape, is Radev, who is entering this battle and, in my opinion, is even viewed with hope by GERB and PP-DB, who potentially, in a purely political aspect, are attentive to Radev“, the analyst pointed out.

According to him, the situation is historic.

"Mr. Peevski's legitimacy is thanks to all of you, all of us. Every goddamn day, every politician – no matter how big or small, begins and ends with Mr. Peevski.

In public opinion, when you bring up one name – like Peevski, for thousands of times every day, to say that he is the strong one, that he has conquered the judicial system, the prosecutor's office, the media, business, in general, people are starting to see strength in him.

And this is thanks mostly to your political formation, to Mr. Radev, to all of you who are constantly feeding his mill“, Nidal Algafari pointed out, addressing Stoyan Mihalev from PP-DB.

"This is some kind of struggle of Euro-Atlanticisms – my Euro-Atlanticism is better than yours. With Mr. Peevski there is a forceful form of Euro-Atlanticism, with PP-DB it is more of a refined Anglo-Saxon approach: we graduated abroad, we are the legitimate ones, but we can hardly get the job done, which is why even our partners recognize Mr. Peevski as the right Euro-Atlanticist. Here it is more of a fight for the bone. They let the dogs bark, who will take the bone. But this is not state-building.“, summarized Kuzman Iliev.

Regarding the lack of a quorum in parliament, Algaffari commented: "When the opposition enters and does not register and sits and smiles inside or holds some performance posters, it is rather funny".

"Pazardzhik is not a symptom. Sociological surveys show that things are not exactly like that. GERB has never been much of a force in Pazardzhik", he pointed out.

According to him, the reason for Boyko Borisov's reaction is different: "At one point he got mad that there are some ministries that are their own provinces, in which everyone appoints certain people themselves. This may be on the principle of "I tell you, daughter, remember, daughter-in-law". When they were negotiating, they certainly did not mean that the cleaners would also be from this political formation".

And he continued: "We saw it with Mr. Radev. When he came with his caretaker government. He broke up about 30 thousand people and appointed his own. Then everyone else comes and replaces them".

Regarding the PP-DB's claims about bought votes in Pazardzhik, Algafari pointed out: "Isn't the second political force in Pazardzhik the PP-DB? Can I, for example, now imagine and talk nonsense that you bought these votes, because I saw how your people - Lena Borislavova, together with 100 more people, who at 5:30 in the morning left, went and attacked the Roma neighborhoods. I can claim that they paid there. But that's nonsense".

Kuzman Iliev commented on the issue of the PP-DB's proposed "cordon sanitaire": "It seems that Peevski should not be in power so that you can be in power. This is the logic of the conversation. You cemented this model - you, this community, with the official cabinets, with giving power into the hands of people".

In his words, if the rotation of Maria Gabriel with Nikolay Denkov had taken place, "this would have finished off the PP-DB politically". "It would have really finished you off then", he turned to Stoyan Mihalev.
