The coalition partners are expected to discuss the future of the government today.

GERB leader Boyko Borisov announced on Friday that he had asked Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to meet on Monday with their partners in government - "BSP-United Left" and "There is such a people" (ITN).

On October 17, the fourth day after announcing to his deputies the need to reformat the government, Borisov opened the door for a fourth partner in power - "DPS-New Beginning". Provided that "BSP-United Left" and "There is such a people" (ITN) agree.

It is not time for elections, said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov on Friday at a meeting of the Executive Committee of GERB with the party's regional coordinators, ministers, MPs and mayors. He said that he had had a conversation with the BSP and ITN. Zhelyazkov then also announced an upcoming meeting for today.

The colleagues expressed their readiness to approach politically responsibly the need for the government to have its serious political support in the coalition, but we must hold this conversation – so that the responsibility does not fall solely on GERB, the Prime Minister pointed out.

He commented that a stable parliamentary majority with a very clear commitment for a long political period is needed in order to be able to meet all the upcoming challenges. Rosen Zhelyazkov noted that it is important to have clear political responsibility, which is not proportional, but equal for everyone.

On October 14, GERB Chairman Boyko Borisov announced that they will no longer make the quorum in parliament. I see no place for GERB in such a government, he also said at a meeting with the GERB-SDF parliamentary group in the presence of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and ministers. His statement came after the elections for municipal councilors in Pazardzhik, in which GERB is the sixth political force. We will not break the coalition, but we will not stand like this - Borisov-Peevski will have to explain every day, the GERB leader also said.
