Peevski is probably twisting Borisov's hands for more power and that's why he asked for a government reform. The leader of "DPS-New Beginning" is behaving like a prime minister and head of state - the Sun King. And this works in his interest. This was said by political scientist Petar Cholakov in the studio of "Hello, Bulgaria" on Nova TV.

"The main problem is that Borisov seems weak. And when it comes to that, they start to consider you as such and treat you like that. New elections are not a useful move, because Radev will come out there, turning him into a driver is political PR for him. The ruling party is blocking the parliament, and this is a shot in the foot. Peevski has been in the cabinet for a long time, it will simply be officially announced that there will now be ministers. And this will make Borisov look even weaker", Cholakov emphasized.

Political scientist Tsvetanka Andreeva pointed out that there is obviously a will to reformat the cabinet on the principle of already shared power and clear responsibility.

"A new speaker of the parliament will be elected. This is not about personal relations between GERB and "DPS - New Beginning", but about a new type of government situation, which will eventually include Peevski's formation with a governing quota, which will bring greater stability. The only core around which a government can be formed is GERB, there is no other alternative, so the party is in a particularly strong position. The coalition is ideologically very difficult with mutually exclusive components. Borisov and Peevski are much closer ideologically, in terms of their opposition to Radev", Andreeva commented.

According to her, Borisov has publicly empowered Zhelyazkov and untied his hands. "The GERB leader turned to the opposition and showed them that they are insolvent, withdrawing the quorum. The prime minister is a strong figure, he fought a campaign against Radev in connection with the euro, he is betting his authority at the moment", the political scientist believes.
