How did they secure a majority for something that does not exist? No one knows what the 2026 Budget will be, but they support it! I am shocked by today's statement, except that Peevski and Borisov sat next to each other and legalized de facto cohabitation in marriage, but they came out and said that they secured a majority for a budget. This was told to the Bulgarian National Radio by Cornelia Ninova, former chairwoman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and now leader of "Unrepentant Bulgaria", Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy in Kiril Petkov's government (December 13, 2021 - August 2, 2022)
"Borisov senses where things are going with finances and the economy. He does not like to bear responsibility at such moments and it was not by chance that he sought Peevski's help to share the responsibility. I think that this theater around Pazardzhik was dictated to some extent by his fear of what awaits us in the winter. This is a preliminary run before the wind. His intuition is strong that difficult months are coming and he does not want to take on this responsibility. ... After Borisov's request to reformat the government, change the Speaker of the National Assembly and the ministries not to be on concession, but today none of this happened, which means only one thing - his word does not carry weight, his opinion does not matter, and the government and the majority are governed by Delyan Peevski.
The BSP and the ITN know that this is their last participation in power and they want to consume it to the end, there is pure clientele, it has nothing to do with principles, morality, politics, emphasized the former BSP leader and added that Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is a "straw man".
Prices, water - its lack, its price, its pollution in many places, poor infrastructure and security - these are, in her opinion, the problems of the people, but those in power have a different agenda, believes Ninova.
According to Kornelia Ninova, Peevski is eating up the country, and Borisov is standing in the corner and sniffing, but This would not have happened now if in 2020 Rumen Radev, when he raised his fist, leaving the presidency to the protesting people, had formed a party:
"When the protests started in 2020, we immediately went out to him - under the raised fist. Then it was a unique moment for Radev to form a party, it would have been strong, we would all have stood there. The "GERB" model, now enriched with the "Peevski" model, would have ended if all this had been real and had continued to the end. And we would not be in this situation right now - Peevski eating the country, and Boyko standing in the corner and sniffling. After that, Radev put his fist away, there were cases in which he negotiated afterwards with the ruling party, he did not fully realize this energy. I think that now this energy is not the same - both as a force and as a majority of people who would go".
By the end of his presidential term, he will not create a party, Ninova predicts.
She emphasized that during his second term, Radev made mistakes by getting involved in the political process as a party builder and interfering in party life:
"He created the PP, supported the ITN, went against the BSP. This goes beyond the framework of the presidential institution. From there, what is happening now followed - opposition and a clash between institutions, which is not good for Bulgaria".
