Over the past 15 years, policy through the budget has been made only in the expenditure part, it is high time we also paid attention to the revenue part. That is why “BSP-United Left” is calling for a fairer tax system. We, as a left-wing party, want to tax capital, not labor. But with a progressive tax system, fairness will be restored - all our European partners have one. The desire of “BSP-United Left” is for there to be a change in taxes. We need to think about dividend tax, corporate tax, etc. But by moving to a certain income system, we will also have to touch on individuals. There must be a non-taxable minimum. The increase in health insurance is being discussed. This was said by the MP from “BSP-United Left” Atanas Atanasov on the air of “Your Day” on NOVA NEWS.
In Bulgaria, the gap between the poor and the rich continues to widen, Atanasov added in support of the idea of increasing taxes.
The salaries of young doctors will be guaranteed, he said. And he added that this is precisely why an extraordinary session of parliament will be held on Tuesday. A solution has been found and the issue will be resolved, Atanasov said.
“As long as BSP - United Left is part of this government, social payments, the growth of income of workers will be guaranteed. For social policy – we insist that the Swiss rule be implemented in full”, the MP also said.
The stability of the government
„10 months ago we had passed 8 parliamentary elections, we risked the state losing billions from Europe – under the PVU and other programs, all regulators had expired, there was no budget, the social systems were at their limit. What is happening now – not only was there a budget, social payments, pensions, wages increased, there are many investments, the economy is booming. So, criticizing the ruling party, let's realize where we would be right now if there was no regular cabinet. Not to mention the dynamics of international relations”, Atanas Atanasov also said.
„The cordon sanitaire around Peevski had several points. Most of them were related to the non-participation of „DPS-New Beginning” in the leadership of the parliament as deputy chairman and in the committees of the parliament. One of the points was a law of the PP-DB, with which they promised that things in the judicial system around the prosecutor general would be regulated. Now we have seen that this law was not written in the right way and the goal around which we united has not been achieved. So the requirements in this sanitary cordon have been met”, Atanasov also said.
