In "From the Day" on BNT, Atanas Zafirov commented on the BSP's weight in politics and power. Exactly as much as our voters have assigned - he said. We are the guarantor of the social vector of the government, he said. As long as this government complies with the policies that were written in the Joint Governance Agreement - until then, we will stay in it, he added.

He was categorical that he did not agree with the statement that the BSP "is following anything" regarding the relinquishment of the post of NA Speaker. They stated that they are following the interests of the people who have voted for them.

"All decisions we have made, including those in the last week, are in line with the expectations of Bulgarian citizens. I would not accept qualifications such as "withdrawal" because this is a matter of a more political act, but of a technical nature - the rotation in question. The post of Speaker of the National Assembly was not the subject of discussions in the Council for Joint Governance, when this government was formed. That is why we, in the decision of the National Council yesterday, will insist that the Council for Joint Governance outline exactly the mechanism by which this rotation will be implemented".

Zafirov called for the rotation of the post of Speaker of the National Assembly to be viewed as a technical issue in which there is political logic.

The battle for Kiselova and her post was a battle "to get this parliament going", said Zafirov. Also his personal battle, so that we "don't just go to the elections like that". He added that "we haven't given up on anything".

"Nobody has any complaints about Kiselova's work, on the contrary. We are absolutely satisfied and we have always said that she is doing the best possible job in this difficult situation".

According to him, the chairman of Natalia Kiselova has coped "excellently" with her duties and they have no complaints about the way "she led the meetings of the National Assembly", but we accept "the political logic of our partners and we are moving forward".

"Who will lead the National Assembly is really a technical question. But for us, the budget and the stability of the state are more important".

Nobody is removing anyone, he said. There will be no other changes in the cabinet at this stage, believes Atanas Zafirov and added that it is very important to evaluate what has been done so far.

"There is no way that this government is not based on compromises, but in no case can only one political force pay for all the compromises. We are the most consensual in this government and I do not think that we have not allowed ourselves to criticize".

Zafirov said that "the party is satisfied with the government, because a certain calm has come to the country, that there is some predictability".
