IPB: Meaningless work is boiling!

The only real effect of the measures taken is an increase in budget revenues

The Institute for Road Safety has released a position regarding the results of the number of road accidents and their victims for the first ten months of the year. Here is what the institute writes:

Meaningless work is boiling!

For the first ten months of 2025, 370 people died in road accidents (RTAs) — exactly as many as there were in the same period in 2024.

The paradox is that before the most extensive changes to the Road Traffic Act came into force (in early September), the number of deaths was 14 fewer than in the same period in 2024.

After the introduction of average speed control (the pride of the government), the securing of 36 sections with a concentration of road accidents, and the adoption of 43 emergency measures in just two months (September and October), the number of deaths increased by 15.2%.

The government's stated goal - a 20% reduction in fatalities - will not only not be met, but in all likelihood an increase in fatalities will be observed on an annual basis. Such growth has not happened since 2021.

At the same time, since the beginning of the year, fines under the Road Traffic Act have been imposed for over 200 million leva.

Over 1 million violations have been established for speeding alone.

The only real effect of the measures taken is an increase in budget revenues, at the expense of 370 dead Bulgarian citizens.

The people's representatives, in sync with the government, are competing to see who will introduce more “innovative“ (foolish) changes to the regulations regarding road safety.

The Road Safety Institute once again signals to the Prime Minister that the responsibility for managing the risk of road accidents lies with him personally.

Systemic problems are identified:

• Electronic tickets for average speeding are not handed out (the Ministry of Interior has serious organizational problems with processing information).

• The Coordination Center works as an information center.

• The State Agency for Traffic Safety has become a public procurement agency.

• The Ministry of Interior takes care of the state's revenues.

• MTS is still at the Robbie Williams concert.

• The RIA spends billions of leva in chaos, without vision and thought for safe roads.

• Corruption is the ruler, with whom everyone complies.

All that remains is for God to protect us.
