“This year, farmers are expected to receive significantly greater financial resources of over 1 billion leva under a total of 33 different interventions of direct payments for Campaign 2025 and state aid schemes“. This was said by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Tahov during a working meeting with representatives of the branch organizations in the "Agriculture" sector at the Ministry of Agriculture. He emphasized that support for farmers remains the main priority of the Ministry.
In front of those present, Minister Tahov announced that today the State Fund "Agriculture" will publish the indicative schedule for direct payments under Campaign 2025. “Last year, about 650 million leva were paid under 12 schemes, and this year our plans are even more ambitious. Given the difficult year from a climatic point of view of frost, hail and drought, the funds will be paid as quickly as possible“, Minister Tahov was categorical. He announced that in the shortest possible time, over 14,000 farmers will receive payments under the state aid scheme in the form of a discount on the excise duty on gas oil.
He added that de minimis aid is also forthcoming for farmers raising small ruminants in areas with restrictive measures due to measles, as well as compensation for damage from adverse weather conditions.
„In the last ten days of November, funds for frost damage to fruit crops (plums, peaches, nectarines, almonds, etc.) will be transferred, and immediately after December 1, the largest payment will be made - the – „Basic Income Support for Sustainability“ (BIS)“, the Minister of Agriculture also said.
