We are signing an agreement for a railway tunnel with Skopje

This is expected to happen today at an official ceremony at the Gyueshevo station

Bulgaria and North Macedonia will sign an agreement for the construction of a railway tunnel between the two countries. This is expected to happen today at an official ceremony at the Gyueshevo station.

The cross-border tunnel has a design length of about 2.5 km, half of which is on the territory of Bulgaria. It is a key element of the transport corridor “Western Balkans – Eastern Mediterranean“ and the strategic Corridor No. 8. Its implementation will ensure the missing railway connectivity between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia and will improve transport access between the Black Sea and the Adriatic.

The agreement will be signed by the transport ministers of the two countries – Grozdan Karadzhov and Aleksandar Nikoloski.
