„Ivaylo Mirchev and Asen Vassilev were hardly born when, on my proposal, taxes became 10% in the Triple Coalition“, said Yordan Tsonev from the MRF, commenting on Budget 2026.
„If I support the budget now in its current form with a minimal increase in the social security contribution, it is because the development of the economy and the processes in Europe require it“, he explained.
„For 17 years, Bulgaria has had the lowest tax burden in terms of direct taxes. And the lowest social security. For 17 years we have been supporting business and providing it with an environment in which to develop“, said Tsonev.
„Let me remind businesses that they have received 6.5 billion leva in energy subsidies. A 2% increase in the social security burden is because the pension system is severely unbalanced. We increased pensions due to inflation and the Covid crisis. Revenues are growing by 6 billion leva, but the money is not enough“, explained the MP from the MRF.
„We have talked a lot about these topics with Simeon Dyankov. He is from the school of financiers who believe that salaries should be reduced. With Delyan Peevski, we have promised people that we will not reduce their incomes, no matter what it costs the state. We do not want to reduce people's salary costs. We do not want to reduce capital expenditures for municipalities, which should make the environment for people better. We do not want to reduce expenses and we will not reduce them“, said Yordan Tsonev.
According to him, the 2026 budget corresponds to the policies that the ruling coalition wants to pursue. “We are not inclined to make concessions, because we have previously made it so that this is the most minimal increase in the burden“.
