As of today, by order of the Mayor of the Sofia Municipality, the delegated powers of the Chief Architect of Sofia are revoked. The reason is the lack of the necessary trust and the impossibility of effective interaction within the administrative management.
This was announced by the Sofia Municipality.
As of today, the Chief Architect does not perform the functions of a contracting authority under the Public Procurement Act (PPA). If necessary, this authority will be exercised directly by the Mayor of the Sofia Municipality. The coordination of orders and contracts related to the disposal of municipal property and the acquisition of properties and real rights under the Local Self-Government and Local Administration Act (LSLAA) remains solely within the competence of the Deputy Mayor for “Finance and Healthcare” Georgi Klisurski. The authority to submit reports on urban planning issues, concerning the creation and/or amendment of Detailed Development Plans, to the Sofia Municipal Council, including proposals for amendment of the General Development Plan, is already exercised by the Mayor of Sofia Municipality. The changes have been introduced with a view to ensuring management consistency, institutional control and effective coordination in the activities of the administration.
