The appointment of a special manager aims to guarantee stability of supplies and protect the national interest. This was commented on “The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov“ by the new Deputy Speaker of Parliament Kostadin Angelov.
"There is nothing quick. The state has shown its backbone in this situation. This decision was taken to protect the national interest, to protect Bulgarian citizens and to ensure that there will be no problem after these sanctions come into effect after November 21“, said Kostadin Angelov.
According to Angelov, the main goal of the special manager is to ensure stability of supplies:
“The most important thing is that the role of the special manager will be the security of supplies and a guarantee that Bulgarians will have fuel. This is our main goal.“
He commented that he was not surprised by the opposition's attack on the topic and described them as “more pro-Kremlin than pro-Bulgarian”.
He pointed out that the parliamentary committee had said that Assen Vassilev had been riding in the back seat with owners of “Lukoil“.
“He was very protective of Litasco's interests at the time, to get gas through suppliers, which increased fuel prices for Bulgarian citizens. This shows that what they were doing was hypocritical. Then, when they govern, they do something completely different - they burden Bulgarians with prices“, commented Kostadin Angelov.
He stated that if President Rumen Radev vetoes this law, it shows that he is working for Russia.
„This is the president who claims that Crimea is Russian. This means that Rumen Radev will protect not the interests of Bulgaria, but of Russia. But let him veto – I promise him that this veto will be overcome within hours. This will not prevent the National Assembly from protecting the interests of every Bulgarian.“
