Action "Winter": 2 months without a license and a fine of 600 leva for exceeding the speed limit by over 50 km/h outside a built-up area

According to the new texts, fines of 100 leva will be imposed if a pedestrian crosses a pedestrian crossing while talking or looking at their phone

The second part of the "Winter" action begins today. Traffic police will monitor compliance with road rules by both pedestrians and drivers.

Under scrutiny will be whether the changes to the Road Traffic Act, which came into force in early September, are being observed.

According to the new texts, fines of 100 leva will be imposed if a pedestrian crosses a pedestrian crossing while talking or looking at his phone.

The same will be the penalty for drivers who use a mobile device behind the wheel.

Drivers who exceed the speed limit by more than 50 km/h outside a built-up area will face a 2-month suspension of their driver's license and a fine of 600 leva.

In the coming days, control on the roads will also be increased on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays towards the border crossings "Kapitan Andreevo" and "Kalotina", as well as in the areas of "Kulata", "Danube Bridge" 1 and "Danube Bridge" 2.
