For the second consecutive year, Bulgaria is error-free in the absorption of European funds in the field of agriculture and natural resources, according to the Annual Report of the European Court of Auditors for 2024. This became clear during the meeting of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov with the Bulgarian representative in the European Court of Auditors Iliana Ivanova. According to the document, the overall error rate for the European budget decreases from 5.6% in 2023 to 3.6% for 2024.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister confirmed the government's strong commitment and aspiration for the timely and effective use of European funds from both the Structural Funds and the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The Prime Minister was categorical that Bulgaria will continue to work to fully utilize the opportunities that European programs provide for social and economic development. Zhelyazkov also noted the key role of financial discipline and good governance as a basis for sustainable economic growth and increasing public trust in European policies.

For her part, Iliana Ivanova emphasized that the political stability that the regular government guarantees with its work is the most important prerequisite for the sustainable development of the country and the trust of European partners. Prime Minister Zhelyazkov indicated that these efforts will be even more intense after the introduction of the common European currency from January 1, 2026. Iliana Ivanova noted that this is a historic moment in which Bulgaria becomes a full member of the Eurozone.
