The draft budget for 2026 is not balanced, but is the same as this year - bad. The similarity is that they are unrealistic in their revenue part, said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio sociologist Kancho Stoychev, deputy chairman of the Association of Bulgarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, responsible for small and medium-sized businesses. "This budget only aggravates Bulgaria's situation and is even more terrible because taxes are being manipulated. Taxing in an unreasonable way led to a heavy outflow from Bulgaria, the second is that last year's debt, estimated at around 8 billion leva, has already been exceeded, we are talking about 10 billion leva. The forecast that Bulgaria will drown in debt with the 2026 budget is already a fact,", commented Stoychev.
According to him, the state has intensified towards a severe social clash, "they have decided and will vote on their budget, and they do not want dialogue":
"The rulers are becoming more and more disconnected from social life. The point is that the situation in Europe is not good. Germany and our partners are bad, the situation in the world is not good. We need more money, well, let's sit down and decide how. And they do the stupidest thing - you take out a loan to give it away for salaries and pensions. And they refuse to talk. Yes, the situation is difficult and we will not stand against our country, but we want to discuss what is the best option. And the rulers - – – – "let's spend money on salaries, win elections", and then the dogs ate Bulgaria. Everyone knows that the debt crisis is ahead of us and with this budget we are taking a decisive step towards the abyss."
