It is not as tragic as it seems. We found a common language in Brussels. We are currently very well positioned. This was stated by EPP MEP Andrey Novakov in the program “From the Day” on BNT.

In the last few weeks, we have worked to overcome the differences. We have reached an agreement and there will be a budget. We will start working on it next month, he pointed out.

We cannot demand more and more from the EU, but neither can anyone tell us what to do. In the EU, we share responsibilities. Bulgaria receives 22.5 billion euros in the next seven years. If we continue to have a stable government that works and this money reaches the final beneficiaries, Bulgaria will be a fundamentally different country. Bulgaria is in the top 10 countries that receive the most from the European budget. Everyone along the chain must do their job, our MEP emphasized.

In the last year, I have seen positive developments - 3.5 billion leva have been disbursed from the funds that were frozen, Novakov specified.

We are not pitiful, considering where we were a year ago - at 3% absorption. It is progress, after we discussed how much we would lose under the PVP, he explained.

Defense is the policy of policies. We were at a meeting where we were told that Brussels' airspace was closed because of drones. Therefore, we must ensure that the next transport policy includes money to defend infrastructure such as airports. The threat is not only on the Eastern Flank, but everywhere in Europe. There should be money for companies that develop dual-use products, the MEP said.

Europe is the victim - gas pipelines, communication cables are being cut, weapons factories are being blown up. Europe does not want to go to war with anyone. All the money that is being allocated is for defense. We will build a wall against drones that enter Europe, not deploy missiles that can be launched somewhere, Andrey Novakov specified.
