As of today, the Union of Administrative Employees at the Labor Union "Podkrepa" A series of protests begins.
From 12:30 to 1:00 p.m., employees of the National Statistical Institute will express their dissatisfaction.
They are coming out in front of the Central Office in Sofia and in front of the buildings of the territorial offices in the country, demanding that an additional 2.5 million leva be provided in the budget for next year, so that their salaries reach the average values for the country.
Employees who calculate the monthly inflation and the average salary for the country and know where in the administration the highest salaries are, know best that their incomes are lagging behind.
For the second consecutive year, only a 5 percent salary increase is planned for employees of the NSI.
We insist that the increase be 20 percent, Atanaska Krasteva, leader of the trade union federation of the "Podkrepa" at the National Statistical Institute.
In statistics, staff turnover is also a problem; young specialists cannot be retained when they receive a better offer from private business. There are 968 employees at the NSI - Central Office and the six territorial offices.
In the other administrations with scheduled protests, only a 5 percent salary increase is being offered.
