Three people were injured in a serious accident in Velingrad shortly after midnight on Saturday. Two cars collided on the central "Saedinenie" boulevard, in close proximity to the gas station at the hospital, BNT specified.
A 38-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man from Rakitovo were traveling in one car. The other car was driven by a 34-year-old man. After the incident was reported, emergency teams, the police and the fire department were sent to the scene.
Medics determined that the woman had a severe head injury and was in danger of life. She was transported urgently to the Pazardzhik Hospital. The man from Rakitovo was admitted with a head injury, a broken limb and collarbones, but his injuries are not life-threatening. The driver from Velingrad was also injured and has various injuries to his body. Both men were hospitalized without life-threatening injuries.
Since both drivers were transported urgently, they were not tested on the spot with a breathalyzer, but blood samples were taken. Two examinations were carried out - at night and the next day. The appointed experts will establish exactly how the accident happened, which of the drivers is at fault and at what speed the cars were moving.
Residents in the area say that the impact was extremely strong and scared many. As a result of the collision, one of the cars crashed into a tree, eyewitnesses added.
