The government must provide the funds for the payment of Christmas supplements for pensioners at its meeting today.
About 536 thousand adults with pensions up to the poverty line of 638 leva, including the poverty line for this year, will receive an additional 120 leva to their pensions for December before the holidays. 64 million leva are being provided for this purpose from the budget of the National Social Security Institute. The decision to give a holiday bonus was made by the parties from the ruling coalition and the DPS-NN.
In addition, the government is providing 27 million leva to increase the capital of "Irrigation Systems" to restore the pumping station on the "Pyasachnik" dam. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov made the commitment to grain producers at the beginning of the week.
The agenda of the government meeting includes the decision to dismiss the Chairperson of the State Agency "Road Traffic Safety" Malina Krumova and to appoint a temporary acting head.
A decision will also be made to adopt a National Plan for Investments in the European Defense Industry under the European Union SAFE instrument and to submit a request for financial assistance to the European Commission by Bulgaria.
