We did not protest. The rulers, obviously frightened by the anger of the people, provoked by their actions, tried to do something that has never happened in the recent history of Bulgaria - to convene a committee during the recess, at which a budget would be adopted. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on bTV by the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev in connection with the stormy scandal that took place earlier today during the meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee of the parliament, scheduled for an extraordinary time at 12:20 p.m., at which the draft budgets of the state social security and the National Health Insurance Fund for 2026 were to be considered on second reading.
The trauma from the meeting of the energy committee for 26 seconds is fresh. Today they tried to do something similar. A budget has never been adopted in a similar way. Our task was to prevent it so that there could be a normal conversation. The bad thing is that our rulers have forgotten themselves - they are not having a dialogue with anyone, they simply decided to get together and adopt these texts. There were also five NSO guards in the hall, armed with pistols. Such a thing - having armed guards at a committee has never happened before. This is a precedent in a European country. What is the purpose of the NSO armed guards, we did not receive an answer. These are dirty times - the dirty people who used to go around and threaten people are now at the head of the state. When the thugs enter the deputies armed, this is not a normal situation, this is not a normal country, this is Peevski's jamahiriya, Mirchev said.
The National Assembly no longer has any ratings, because there is a big political monster in it that the rulers are raising and this monster gives directions on what to do. Today they called a doctor, tomorrow they can call ambulances, they can also call a circus. 90 billion budget is being distributed and all this is happening in the middle of this circus, he added.
According to him, today the leave of police officers has been suspended in order to guard the protest scheduled for 18 hours against the adoption of Budget 2026 in the so-called triangle of power in the center of Sofia.
We have no doubts who is afraid of what - they are afraid of the citizens, they are afraid of what they will be told today. After all, this political monster says that he works for the people - let him come to the square tonight and see what the people will tell him, to feel their love, said the co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria".
It is time for people to get angry, to see what is happening in the country, to take back our country. The protest is against lost freedom, in the broader sense, against what is happening in the budget – the government wants to guarantee that next year will be peaceful for them. That is why the salaries of police officers are being sharply increased, in the CPK. A lot of money is being allocated for the security structures – for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and for the services, so that they can guarantee peace. In parallel with this, taxes and social security are hitting business and the middle class hard. We have no doubt about Delyan Peevski – he has always hated the middle class, ever since the protests against his appointment as chairman of the State Agency of National Security in 2013. Borisov, however, declared himself a defender of the middle class, but in recent days he has also declared war on the middle class with all his support for the DPS-New Beginning, commented Ivaylo Mirchev.
We must strive for Bulgaria to regain its freedom and be a normal European country, since we currently have conquered institutions, he added.
In response to a question, Mirchev also stated that behind all the actions of the ruling party in recent weeks, Peevski's desire to "get a hold" on "Lukoil" and the Bulgarian Sports Totalizator is evident.
