"The ball in terms of the budget and governance continues to stand between Peevski and Borisov". This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by political analyst Arman Babikyan.
"At this stage, the conversation continues to be between Peevski and Borisov. I take the statement of the BSP leader more as information submitted by Peevski's camp to Borisov, since we did not hear any specifics about which social demands of the BSP are in question, i.e. this could mean everything or nothing", he commented. And he continued: "One of the two crutches in power, the other is the ITN, is undoubtedly the socialist party. Either way, the signal has been sent to Borisov. The main victim in recent days is Borisov", said Babikyan.
"Peevski was raising the stakes all the time. To this was added 2 billion in recent days, again intended for buying foreign property, which no one told us he was selling to Bulgaria - I'm talking about "Lukoil". I'm even talking about the Sports Totalizator, which was also added in recent days. I'm even talking about holding committees to push the budget during the NA recess. The accumulation and pressure from the DPS continued day after day and this really finally angered and brought people out onto the streets", the political analyst pointed out.
According to him, Peevski is keeping one more move for himself: "He still hasn't said what he thinks about Borisov's latest decision. Borisov felt himself in a vice and that's why he withdrew the budget. That's why he immediately started talks with employer organizations and unions. He started to ease the tension, because from the peak of the tension, only he is losing, not Peevski. Peevski is not officially in power, he does not have a single minister. He will not suffer electoral damage in the event of a possible early election. Borisov will suffer electoral damage. Under Peevski, there will be a growth of 2 or 3%. Borisov does not want to be a loser".
There was resistance and avoidance of dialogue on the part of the ruling party on many parameters of the budget, so it is undeniable where the conflict points are, the analyst added.
