If there is one explanation for why there are currently social tensions, without any formal or real reason, it is because they have accumulated in recent years. This was said by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during the National Youth Academy of GERB in Razlog, reported by BTA.
According to him, the government seemed somehow more stable when it was actually unstable, in the first months of its existence, and when there is very clear political and parliamentary support, they try to make it out that the cabinet is unstable, he added.
Zhelyazkov assured that the cabinet is currently functioning very well as a single body, regardless of the complex party configuration within it.
We were really pressed by the time for submitting a draft state budget, the Prime Minister explained and noted that GERB as a party has shown that it is sensitive to the reaction of society and sentiments.
In his words, political attacks will continue. Zhelyazkov acknowledged the importance of talks with social partners regarding the budget, with the goal of achieving consensus and trust.
The Prime Minister also indicated that the conversation on the essential issues of the so-called socio-economic reforms, postponed for many years - and on the tax and social security model and where the role of the state as a redistributor is, will begin in 2026.
