Today, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will participate in an official ceremony in Rome, at which the start and route of the cycling tour of Italy – „Giro d’Italia 2026“ will be presented.
Bulgaria has been selected to host the opening (Grande Partenza) of the „Giro d’Italia 2026“, as well as the first three stages of one of the most significant global sporting events, which will be held in May 2026.
The event represents an exceptional opportunity to promote Bulgaria as a tourist and sports destination worldwide. By hosting, Bulgaria has the opportunity not only to attract tourists, but also to establish its brand as a year-round, diverse and competitive destination on the international tourist map.
The delegation, led by the Prime Minister, also includes the Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev and the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh.
