Residents of many large cities - such as Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas - also gathered for peaceful protests and marches. The most massive demonstration was in the capital - for hours, people chanted "resign" under the windows of the government.
And after the police issued a warning of escalation during the day - shortly after 9 p.m., the tension in Sofia increased significantly.
This happened after the people split into several groups - some of them reached the GERB headquarters, and then returned to the triangle of power. In parallel, another group headed to the headquarters of "DPS - Novo nachod", where clashes, riots and a serious escalation of tension occurred. Several police and gendarmerie cars were broken into.
According to the Sofia Police, there are over 10 detainees. Dozens of garbage containers were set on fire, and a GERB office was also attacked. What happened - is a provocation by agitators to discredit the protest, "We Continue the Change - "Democratic Bulgaria" are categorical.
