Roads closed and 12 families evacuated due to floods in Burgas

The rain was intense, the catchment areas above the villages were large and this made it impossible for the riverbeds to collect the amount, so the water came out and flooded yards and agricultural areas. If the rain had been more intense and prolonged, there could have been victims. This was told to bTV by Todor Stoyanov from the regional Fire Safety Directorate.

He reported that as of today the rivers are in their beds. No new rains are expected, there is no safety for the population. Stoyanov and summarized the situation from yesterday:

"On December 6, torrential rains fell on the territory of Burgas region, in places the amount of rain was 130 liters per square meter. The most affected were the Arapya campsite and the village of Lozenets in the Tsarevo municipality, the village of Novo Panicharevo in the Primorsko municipality, the village of Izvor, Burgas municipality.

In the Arapya campsite and in the village of Lozenets, two ravines overflowed their beds, and in Arapya, caravans and bungalows were flooded. A hotel complex was flooded in the village of Lozenets. The ground floors will be drained today, Stoyanov announced.

The main road between Tsarevo and Varvara was closed for a short time. The area of the former factory was also flooded.

In the village of Novo Panicharevo, the dam overflowed the spillway, respectively, the Ropotamo River overflowed its bed and flooded yards. About 12 families were evacuated in the village due to the danger of flooding their homes.
