The government of Rosen Zhelyazkov had absolutely no other move than to resign. The fact that there were 250,000 people in Sofia and the country for these three protests means nothing. Behind these people are families, grandparents, relatives, groups. This is over 1 million active people in the country, who poured not only into the squares, but also on the Internet. This was said in an interview for "Face to Face" on bTV by political scientist Kaloyan Metodiev.
"The government was doomed. It did a series of stupid things and left quite naturally,", he believes.
According to him, however, this is where the big risk comes. In his words, what happened was nothing more than a maneuver.
"The protest is not over, the dismantling of the model is only just beginning. A regrouping of this government is beginning. They simply gave in. They have not fallen. The situation has not changed in any way. My appeal to society is that the resistance should not stop in any way. The worst is yet to come: during the elections, during the budget", Metodiev added.
Sociologist Svetlin Tachev shared the opinion that the cabinet did not have another useful move after the series of ill-considered moves and scandals. "It reminds me a lot of the events of 2018-2019. The series of mistakes they made eroded trust. They practically committed suicide," he pointed out.
"With this resignation, they are throwing the ball into the opposition's court," Tachev added.
According to journalist Veselin Stoynev, Borisov's move is strategic and an evasion of responsibility, which, in his words, is both "illegitimate" and "anti-state".
