Media expert Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov emphasized how the consultations with President Rumen Radev have turned into talks about whether he will form a party.
According to Lozanov, Radev refused to answer directly with the motive of "not to turn these consultations into an election campaign". The media expert saw in the president's response a sign that he intends to form a party.
Political analyst Kristijan Škvarek believes that the parties are afraid of Radev.
"The protest was against the government, which was three-headed - with the least influence - Rosen Zhelyazkov, after him - the party leader Boyko Borisov, and at the back, but with a more categorical power behavior - Delyan Peevski", commented Assoc. Prof. Lozanov to "Denyat ON AIR".
He predicted that it is very likely that if Radev enters the political scene, the battle in the next elections will be between him, on one side, and PP-DB on the other side, with GERB acting as a balancer. "DPS-New Beginning" will shrink quite a bit as an ethnic party", said Assoc. Prof. Lozanov.
Shkvarek told Bulgaria ON AIR that the "big thing" will be Radev against GERB, and the PP-DB coalition will be "eaten".
"The representatives of the democratic community are looking for some kind of coalition partnership and they always look for it with GERB, because otherwise they are faced with a geopolitical contradiction", explained Assoc. Prof. Lozanov. According to Shkvarek, "DPS-New Beginning" wanted the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet not to fall.
Assoc. Prof. Lozanov emphasized that the goal of the protest was not to restore the same political model again.
Shkvarek predicted that people would vote for Radev rather than for PP-DB. According to him, Radev can "assemble" with "Vazrazhdane" or PP-DB.
