A worker died when a retaining wall collapsed at a construction site in Stara Zagora.
The incident occurred today at around 12:00 p.m. at a construction site in the initial stage in Stara Zagora, BNT reports. According to initial information, there were several workers at the work site.
During the collapse, a mass of earth buried one of them. His colleagues reacted immediately and managed to quickly pull him out of the dirt.
An emergency team arrived at the scene and transported the injured person to the hospital. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the man died a short time later.
An investigation has been launched into the case. The Labor Inspectorate and the police are investigating the causes of the incident and whether all occupational safety requirements were met at the construction site.
