Last night, high concentrations of atmospheric pollutants were recorded in some cities in the country. In the hours around midnight, the devices in Sofia measured over 350 micrograms per cubic meter of fine dust particles, indicated "Nova TV".
In Plovdiv, this indicator reached over 400 micrograms.
According to the European Commission index, the air in the two largest cities in our country was "extremely polluted".
The fog and quiet December weather in recent days are a prerequisite for the accumulation of pollutants in the lower atmospheric layers. Movement in the atmospheric circulation is expected from Sunday onwards.
