The party "March 3" founded yesterday in Nessebar, which declares support for President Rumen Radev, looks like "something between a poisonous double and a misleading maneuver". This thesis was expressed by sociologist Parvan Simeonov on bTV. According to him, the head of state will probably not take political moves immediately, but will wait for a more convenient moment.
Simeonov analyzes the possible scenarios for Radev's entry into the real party battle.
"Radev probably has many runways to land on, if he is going to land, this one is too short for him. If I were Radev, I would rather have sleeping cells with relatively sane people in places and land shortly before the elections to develop a quick, majoritarian campaign around a centralized image, without the people in the places paying much attention to me," commented the sociologist. He made an analogy with the political project of Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in 2001.
The expert predicts that the president will not act now, since the country is in a difficult financial situation.
"According to the sociologist, however, it seems that the president will not do anything now. Bulgaria simply does not have money now, they spent these, they spent the previous ones, difficult periods are ahead," he added.
Parvan Simeonov outlined a gloomy picture of the political dialogue in our country. According to him, GERB behaves like a "closed structure", and its leader speaks as if in a "mutual listening group".
"The liberals only talk about pigs and pumpkins - dehumanization, about hanging, standing in front of the wall. The Peevski camp is a separate universe, they live in an artificial world, the rest are scumbags. The presidential camp exudes sarcasm towards everyone else," the analyst pointed out and asked rhetorically how these groups will negotiate for governance.
Simeonov also made a quick calculation of the possible distribution of forces in new elections with the participation of Radev.
"Imagine a parliament with 500 thousand GERB, 500 thousand PP-DB and 500 thousand Peevski, and Radev, let's say, a million and another 200 thousand for "Vazrazhdane" MECH and the like - that's 80 MPs for Radev and it has to be negotiated. Should I wait for this difficult parliament, which has to look for money and fix the Supreme Judicial Council, and jump in the summer", the sociologist thinks on behalf of the president.
Regarding the processes in the DPS, Parvan Simeonov predicts that GERB will lose between 100 and 150 thousand votes because of "DPS - New Beginning". He advised Delyan Peevski to stop with the aggressive approach.
"If Peevski is a reasonable person, he will work in his own niche and stop teasing, because things have largely come about from teasing", the expert believes.
Simeonov expressed doubt that PP-DB will manage to win an outright majority, despite the energy of young people, which he described as "good news". He recalled the situation from 2020, when "the square wanted one thing, and then Slavi Trifonov won", hinting that now the large space could be occupied by Rumen Radev.
