The alcohol and drug tests of the driver who caused a serious accident in Varna yesterday, in which two women died, are negative, the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in the seaside city announced. The investigation into the case is under the leadership of the District Prosecutor's Office.
The incident occurred on December 22 in the afternoon at the intersection of ul. “Drin“ and ul. “Dr. Piskyuliev“, in the area of the Cooperative Market. According to initial information on the case, the 53-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle while driving and went onto the sidewalk. There he hit two women – aged 53 and 79, after which he crashed into a shop window. The two women died on the spot, BTA reported.
After being examined at the hospital, the driver was detained for 24 hours. He is currently in hospital again, as he has a health problem.
The work to clarify the details of the incident continues. Expertise has been ordered to show the cause of what happened.
