Two tourists who were poorly equipped for winter conditions were transported by snowmobiles to Cherni Vrh by mountain rescuers from the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC).

At around 8:30 pm last night, the service received a signal about disoriented tourists on the trail from the “Aleko“ hut to Cherni Vrh. The weather was foggy, with snowfall and temperatures around minus 8 degrees.

The two men were dressed in jeans, tracksuits and sneakers. The mountain rescuers warmed them and took them to Cherni Vrh by snowmobiles. The men stayed overnight in the hut at the summit.

Tourists should keep in mind that the situation in the mountains is winter, the snow cover is between 20 and 40 cm, the paths are not trodden and it is possible to get stuck when walking, warns the Mountain Rescue Service. In the mountains, you should go out with appropriate equipment and well-charged phones, advise mountain rescuers.
