A 2-year-old child and his 35-year-old mother died today before noon, in the incident between the Sofia - Burgas passenger train and a cart passing through a railway crossing in the area of the Sliven quarter “Debelata koriya“, BNT reported.
There were 5 or 6 people riding in the cart. The mother and the child died on the spot, the others are unharmed, as is the horse.
They went to collect plastic tubes from a nearby dump to buy food. One of the probable reasons for the serious incident is that the end of the cart, the so-called. tail comes into contact with the train.
Stefan Ivanov, driver of the cart, father and husband of the deceased: "I don't know how it happened. The train was over there by the bridge, but about 50 meters away, then this line was already playing. And my children died instantly - my little daughter and my wife. I'm in shock. Here, look at my little daughter's clothes. They were flying from behind, I can't remember what happened and what didn't."
An investigation has been opened into the case.
