The partial state of emergency in the village of Gelemenovo is being lifted, the Pazardzhik municipality announced, BTA reported.

It was declared by Mayor Petar Kulenski on December 25 due to the rupture of the dike on the Telki Dere River as a result of prolonged rainfall.

The municipality specifies that the dike has already been strengthened in the compromised sections and more serious consequences have been prevented.

In the coming days, an interdepartmental commission will continue to inspect and inventory the damage.

At the moment, the levels of the Telki Dere and Elshishka rivers are within normal limits and there is no danger to the residents of Gelemenovo and nearby settlements, the administration added.
