Cold air is blowing in, yellow and orange wind codes throughout Bulgaria

It will be mostly clear overnight on December 28. During the day, strong and stormy winds will blow, bringing cold air.

An orange and yellow code for strong wind has been issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology for almost all of Bulgaria. An orange code has been announced for the districts of Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Pleven, Sofia - region, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Sliven. The code is yellow for almost all other districts, with only parts of Burgas and Smolyan districts not having a warning, BNR reported.

Atmospheric pressure will continue to decrease overnight and tomorrow before noon and will be lower than the average for the month. After noon, it will start to increase.

It will be mostly clear overnight on December 28, after midnight mainly over Northern and Eastern Bulgaria with temporary increases in cloudiness. A weak, moderate westerly wind will blow in the Danube Plain, which will begin to strengthen after midnight. Minimum temperatures will be mainly between minus 3°C and 2°C, in Sofia - around minus 2°C.

A strong and stormy west-northwest wind will blow during the day, bringing cold air. Cloudiness will be variable, but only in isolated places, mainly in Northeastern Bulgaria, will there be light snow. Maximum temperatures will be before noon - between 2°C and 7°C, in Sofia - around 3°C.

Over the mountains, cloudiness will be variable, more often significant. Mainly in the Balkan Mountains there will be snowfalls and there will be snow blizzards on the Balkan passes. A strong northwest wind will blow, bringing cold air and temperatures will drop during the day. By 2 p.m., the temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around minus 5°C, and at 2,000 meters - around minus 7°C.

There will be variable cloudiness over the Black Sea coast. A moderate to strong wind will blow from the west-northwest. Maximum temperatures will be between 4°C and 7°C. Sea water temperature is 8°C-11°C. Sea waves will be 2-3 degrees Celsius.

The new week will start with mostly sunny weather. The wind will weaken and orient itself from the west-southwest. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 5°C and 0°C, and maximum temperatures will be between 2°C and 3°C. and 7°.

On Tuesday there will be more sunny hours before noon, after noon the cloudiness will increase, without precipitation. Minimum temperatures will drop by 1-2 degrees, and daytime temperatures will rise, maximums will be mostly between 5° and 10°.

Later in the day the wind will turn northwest again, it will strengthen and with it cold air will invade. On Wednesday and Thursday it will be quite cold and windy. Cloudiness will be variable, on New Year's Eve and on the first day of the new year more often significant. In some places, mainly in Northern Bulgaria and the mountainous regions, light snow will fall. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 8° and minus 3°, and maximums - between minus 3° and 2°.

On Friday and Saturday the wind will weaken and will be oriented from the southwest, in many areas it will temporarily subside. After a temporary decrease in cloudiness to mostly sunny weather, during the night against Saturday and on Saturday it will become cloudy again and in some places light snow will fall.

It will be very cold on Friday morning, in places in the valleys the minimum temperatures will be around and below minus 10°, warming will begin during the day, which will continue on Saturday.
