Taxis on New Year's Eve: Not all cars are yet equipped with new devices showing the price in euros

The problem arises from the fact that the change for the customer must be in euros. In addition, drivers must also be equipped with enough euro banknotes in their possession to return the change. Drivers are also threatened with a sanction if the device does not show the price in euros.

Three days before the adoption of the euro in our country, the taxi industry warned of possible problems in the first hours of January 1. The reason - a large part of the cars are still not equipped with devices showing the price of the exchange rate in euros, Nova TV reports.

On New Year's Eve, taxis will drive us in leva until 00:00, and after midnight - in euros. But taxi drivers have concerns for two reasons - one is that the post-terminals will temporarily not work after midnight, so paying with a card will be impossible for a short time. The other reason is that some of the older models of devices in the cars are not yet set to display the price in euros. Thus, only the price in leva will be displayed on the display.

The problem arises from the fact that the change for the customer must be in euros. In addition, drivers must also be equipped with enough euro banknotes in themselves to return the change. Drivers are also threatened with a sanction if the device does not display the price in euros.

According to Krasimir Tsvetkov from the National Taxi Union, all this can lead to chaos, confusion and errors.
