The main reason for the power outages in the villages of Nefela and Vlasatitsa, Kulata district and the village of Beli Izvor on December 25 is the heavy snowfall with an orange code declared for dangerous weather.
This was announced by ERM West in connection with the announced protest of residents of the affected Vratsa villages of Nefela, Vlasatitsa, Beli Izvor and Kulata district
As a result, tall trees located outside the easement of the power lines fell on the wires and led to a power outage. The company doubled the emergency teams on the ground and managed to deal with the breakdowns within a day, although it usually takes days to repair such damage.
On December 28, an extremely strong wind, reaching 65 km/h, again knocked down trees on power lines and caused new breakdowns on the same line, which were repaired during daylight hours.
ERM Zapad strictly fulfills its commitments and carries out annual pruning in the easement areas within the extended distances of 7 meters on both sides of the power lines, including in the area of the two villages, where the cleaning of the easement area was completed in early December.
In conclusion, the planned actions by residents in the area are unreasonably extreme, since given the difficult conditions, the company handled the repair of the breakdowns professionally and in the shortest possible time.
