The early hours of December 31 were particularly frosty on the "roof" of the Balkan Peninsula. On Musala Peak, the observers on duty at the station of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology measured -25 degrees Celsius, "Nova TV" indicated.
"-25, moderate wind, not much crowd on the pyramid", notes Rosen Dimitrov, who filmed the last sunrise of the year from 2925 meters above sea level.
A reference for the lowest temperatures during the current cold cycle shows that on Botev Peak in the Stara Planina and on Cherni Vrah in Vitosha at around 5 in the morning, the thermometers registered -20 degrees. At the same time, on the Stara Planina peak Murgash, the ice age was at -15 degrees.
