Andrey Raichev: Rumen Radev has entered the position of the king, the wave will be very big

No one doubts that Radev will take about 80 deputies, some say 100

We have not learned anything new, these are phrases that we have often heard from the president in recent months. If he is trying to re-legitimize the social contract in Bulgaria, the question is how radical this renegotiation looks from Rumen Radev's point of view, what the new way looks like and how much support this can gather in society. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV by political scientist Hristo Panchugov in connection with the resignation of the president and his request to participate in politics with his own project.

This is a long-awaited event, which somehow Radev's opponents thought would not happen. He managed to gather some attention and entered the position of Tsar Simeon (Simeon of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha – ed.) – the whole nation is watching him, expecting him to hand over power, said sociologist Andrey Raichev.

No one doubts that Radev will take about 80 deputies, some say 100 - this will be a very big wave, much bigger than all his opponents say. In Eastern Europe, a process of emancipation is underway, emancipation from the role of a servant of Western Europe. We see Babis, we see Fico, we see Orban – this is an objective process taking place in Eastern Europe. As a quality, Radev is above all this. Internally, he has several tasks, where he stands in an internal agreement with the "blues" for the normalization of the judicial system. The main question is not how much he received, but what he does. In my opinion, he will not create a left-wing party, but a patriotic party of a new type, Raichev pointed out.

In my opinion, patriotism has nothing to do with Radev. Some processes are happening in Eastern Europe, but that big protest happened in Bulgaria - there is nothing emancipatory in it, it was for a more European Bulgaria and it will continue to be for a more European Bulgaria, Panchugov emphasized.

The majority of Bulgarian citizens continue to feel good in the European Union and want a better-regulated and happy system. Radev is not associated with this. Whether he will turn out to be the next king remains to be seen, but it is good to realize what he embodies. He embodies an eastern reactionary eastern culture and continues to insist that Bulgaria's place is not where it is. This is certainly tempting for part of Bulgarian society and for part of politicians. He has a systematic anti-European behavior, Hristo Panchugov also commented.
