MECH leader and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Radostin Vassilev said that he expects Rumen Radev to be a partner after the elections in the fight against the “political oligarchic mafia model“. In an interview with BNT, he commented on possible coalitions, foreign policy, the official cabinet, the fairness of the elections and the changes to the Electoral Code.

The goal now with the changes to the Electoral Code is to prevent the use of old machines, the leader of the MECH party also said. According to him, there is no time to introduce scanning devices for voting with paper ballots for these elections.

Radostin Vassilev stated that his expectations for President Rumen Radev are related to a real change in the governance model.

„With expectations to have a partner with whom we can effectively do something that society has been waiting for for many years. This is a model that has been around for a long time to be removed - from Borisov and Peevski. "A political, oligarchic, mafia model," said MECH leader Radostin Vassilev in "The Day Begins."

According to him, people who would support Radev also have similar expectations.

"I have such expectations, as do probably 100% of the people who will support him."

Vassilev specified that he sees an opportunity for a partnership with Rumen Radev after the elections, not before them.

"A possible partner after the elections. As do all those who want to fight these people, for real. Because we have seen many false heroes in the last 4-5 years."

The leader of MECH emphasized that his party defines itself as a moderately conservative, centrist entity and that there is an overlap with the president, especially in foreign policy.

„We are a moderately conservative, truly centrist political entity. He has a natural lurch to the left - normal from his genesis, from which he became president. And we have a very strong overlap in foreign policy and geopolitics.“

On the topic of a possible coalition between Rumen Radev and PP-DB, Vassilev said that first we need to see the people and policies.

„In order for there to be a partnership, we need to see the people that Radev wants to be part of his future political project.“

He added that MECH can work with both Radev and PP-DB, but warned of growing confrontation.

„We can work with them, we can work with him, because we are not „Vazrazhdane“. And this dispute between them does not exist here.“

When asked if he trusts PP–DB after leaving, Vassilev said:

„I don't trust anyone. I've been lied to a lot and I've been taught not to trust anyone. But political culture requires me to give credit to the possibility of some change.“

As a lawyer, he said he sees no obstacles to Andrey Gyurov being the acting prime minister. According to him, it is Gyurov who has a chance to organize fair elections.
