A policeman from the General Directorate of the National Police testified that the searches and arrest of Boyko Borisov, Vladislav Goranov and Sevdalina Arnaudova were discussed in the Council of Ministers with the then Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. He is being charged with official misconduct in connection with the arrest of Borisov, Goranov and Arnaudova, carried out in March 2022.

What a then-GDNP employee said was that this case had been worked on for a long time and every week the directorate's management was reported on what exactly had been done.

He said that in order to collect evidence, it was assessed that there must be information from Vasil Bozhkov, who was in Dubai at the time, which is why he was ordered to contact a criminal lawyer to explain to him what exactly was needed, and through the mediation of this criminal lawyer, the information was obtained from Bozhkov, BNT reported.

On the day before Boyko Borisov's arrest, they were called to the Council of Ministers building at noon, where they were in the meeting room together with the then-Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, the then Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov and the then Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister Assen Vassilev.

It was at this meeting in the Council of Ministers that it was discussed exactly what had been done so far on the file and how to initiate pre-trial proceedings, without it being reported to the prosecutor's office, but with witness statements to be taken from the then acting Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, after which the searches in the homes of Borisov, Goranov and Arnaudova were already discussed, as well as the fact that they should be detained.

Kiril Petkov arrived at the case, but before that he commented on current political issues and on the fact that, even with his resignation as leader of "We Continue the Change", he had refused to be part of the lists for deputies. He says that there is neither a split nor a purge in the party.

Kiril Petkov said: "Being on the bench in parliament is just one of the positions. It's not about a purge, it's about a team that doesn't care whether you call yourself an MP, whether you're the Prime Minister, but cares about Bulgaria."

Kiril Petkov said that he has good relations with Asen Vassilev and that they were even together last night.
