President (2017-2026) Rumen Radev held a meeting today with representatives of the companies that are the main investors in the Kardesa project for the construction of a system of optical submarine cables in the Black Sea, which will connect Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia, and subsequently other countries in the region. Representatives of Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and AzerTelecom participated in the meeting.

The construction of data centers in Bulgaria and digital connectivity were among the priorities of Rumen Radev during both of his terms as head of state, and he emphasized that he will continue to work in the future to develop Bulgaria's potential in these areas.

“Bulgaria's strategic location between Europe and Asia creates opportunities for the implementation of projects in the field of connectivity with high added value”, Rumen Radev emphasized at the meeting.

The Kardesa project affirms Bulgaria's role within this strategic digital corridor and creates prerequisites for its development as a major digital and IT center in Central and Eastern Europe. The project is also of key importance for the subsequent creation of large data centers, digital technologies and the development of an ecosystem of interaction between various technology companies.
